This hands on class will explore the technical, artistic skills, and media vocabulary needed for film making. Students will utilize modern equipment from cameras to computers, and investigate early tools and techniques which developed the medium. The class will feature an on-line blog, this one, right here, with tutorials, take home activities and guest speakers from the Oregon film industry. Completed films will be posted on line and in a public screening at Portland’s Kennedy School on May 31st.
Your instructor is, Shawn Bowman the founder of Indiekid Films, an organization which presents child and adult produced films to family audiences in independent film festivals around the country. She has over ten years experience in film production and has previously taught children’s classes in Denver Colorado.
